Welcome to Sara & Mike's Grand Adventure!

Welcome to our Grand Adventure!
In this blog Mike and I will detail our wedding holiday as we journey northward by car from Grand Meadow, Minnesota to Seward, Alaska.  At this point, you may be thinking: why Alaska?  Well, you're just going to
have to wait a little longer for your inquiry to be answered as it is the night before the official departure & we still haven't finished packing.  Yikes!  So, you just remove yourself from where you're most certainly perched in anticipation at the edge of your seat (don't worry, we will get to the why in all good time) and stay tuned as we update on our grand adventure.

Progress Update:  Day 0 (The night before official departure)
Distance Traveled:  Approximately 10 steps (from kitchen to living room to start this blog)
Distance Remaining: 3,405 driving miles to Seward, AK (approximately 61 hours)

Cheers! (& Wish us luck!)

  1. Well where to begin? I better say Congratulations first let alone people think I am cynical--no really congrats. I mean going on a road trip to Alaska--such fond memories...seeing sheep along the road outside of Anchorage, eagles everywhere, climbers on the rock along Turnagain, stuck behind a motorhome and 25 cars on the Kenai, train travel, whale watching, puffins and seals everywhere, salmon fishing, the list goes on... hmmm did I forget something....hmmm white dress....family...groom...gosh it is on the tip of my tongue. Alas it will come to me..
    Take Care!!

  2. Wow! 1,324 miles. You two are well on your way to Alaska. Hope the weather in Canada is cooler than what we are experiencing in MN. Adam is home and enjoying being with us and his friends. It is great to read about your big adventure! Drive safely.
