July 12 Matanuska Ferry
This ferry holds up to 80 vehicles and is 704 feet long. It is a beaut. Our little double bunk cabin fits us fine and we spend most of out time on deck (the sun has shown itself well and temps have held during the day in the 60’s) or in the glassed in area overlooking the front of the boat. From there we can watch the snow capped mountains pass us as we look for aquatic wildlife. We saw a seal shortly after leaving port but that was it for wildlife on the day. Sun set was about 11 or so, but it stayed light well into the morning hours.
